KuCard fees: free EUR spending, but travel can add 2% before the ATM
KuCard's current schedule separates domestic-currency use from travel economics: EUR transactions are free, non-EUR transactions cost 2%, European ATM withdrawals cost €2 and international withdrawals cost 2% plus €2.
KuCard is economically different at home and abroad
For an EUR-denominated purchase, the published card transaction fee is zero. When the merchant transaction is not in EUR, KuCard adds 2% of the total. That is €20 per €1,000 of foreign-currency spend before any separate exchange-rate or ATM-operator effect.
Purchase scenarios
| Scenario | Published KuCard fee | Total cash cost |
|---|---|---|
| €500 spent in EUR | €0 | €500 |
| €500 equivalent outside EUR | €10 | €510 |
| €1,000 equivalent outside EUR | €20 | €1,020 |
| €3,000 equivalent outside EUR | €60 | €3,060 |
ATM scenarios
International examples apply the published 2% plus €2 formula. Local ATM surcharges and currency-conversion effects are excluded.
| Withdrawal | Inside Europe | International |
|---|---|---|
| €50 equivalent | €2 · 4.0% | €3 · 6.0% |
| €100 equivalent | €2 · 2.0% | €4 · 4.0% |
| €500 equivalent | €2 · 0.4% | €12 · 2.4% |
